Graduate Student
I study novel forms of value emerging from practices resisting climate change.
Particularly how government policies, scientific methodologies, and Indigenous management practices converge to produce hybridized schemes managing natural hazards. In northerly Australia I'm currently researching how Aboriginal rangers produce crypto value from preventative "cultural" burning practices, along with considering how this hybridized scheme transforms lifestyles and environmental worldviews for various actors within changing landscapes.
My work is committed towards producing practical positive effects for local communities and, as a first-gen student, engaging public interest in anthropological approaches towards understanding wildfires and interrelated forms of value.
