Book Prizes: James H. Smith's book

Prof. Smith’s book won the Association for Political and Legal Anthropology’s Book Prize in Critical Anthropology, as well as a Special Commendation for the Amaury Talbot Prize for African Anthropology. It was also a finalist for the African Studies Association’s Best Book Prize.

Public Impact: James Smith’s book, The Eyes of the World: Mining the Digital in the Eastern Congo, was reviewed in the June 2022 issue of Foreign Affairs.
