Abstract

Ostrich eggshell is a durable and widespread material in southern African archaeological sites, with the potential to preserve information about past environments and human use of the landscape. This research uses stable isotope analysis of archaeological eggshell together with modern environmental data to reconstruct resource catchments and explore how people interacted with and moved through past landscapes.
