Fellowships for entering students

You are responsible for applying for financial assistance. The UC Davis Graduate Studies Internal Fellowships website identifies available scholarships and fellowships and contains a link to the fellowship application form. The Anthropology graduate program awards a small number of fellowships, including nonresident tuition fee fellowships, through a University Block-Grant allocation. Fellowships are awarded on academic merit and are therefore very competitive.
DEADLINE: The application deadline for admission as well as for fellowships in the Department of Anthropology is December 15. This deadline overrides any deadlines that may be posted by the Graduate Studies office. Supporting materials must include:
  • University fellowship application: Disregard the January 15th deadline notice, which applies to currently enrolled students only; the deadline for Anthropology continuing students is December 15.
  • Statement of Purpose and personal statement: You may use the same statement of purpose that you used for the admissions evaluation; a second statement is not necessary.
  • Academic record: The set of official transcripts you submitted for admission also applies to fellowship consideration; you do not need to submit a separate set of transcripts for fellowship application.
  • GRE scores
  • Letters of recommendation: The three letters of recommendation that you submitted for admission also apply to fellowship consideration; your recommenders do not need to resubmit letters for your fellowship application.
